Conditions We Treat at Our Cambridge Physiotherapy Clinic

At Coronation Physiotherapy, we treat a wide range of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. Many of our patients come to us after weeks or months of pain that hasn’t resolved on its own. Others are referred by their physician, employer, or insurance provider. Whatever brought you here, we start by listening, assessing thoroughly, and building a treatment plan that addresses the root cause — not just the symptoms.

  • Spine & Nerve Pain — Disc injuries, sciatica, pinched nerves, neck & back pain. Brief sentence on your clinical approach.

  • Repetitive Strain & Workplace Injuries — Carpal tunnel, postural dysfunction, WSIB claims. Mention your experience with work-related rehab.

  • Sports & Accident Recovery — Motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries, pre/post-surgical rehab. Mention your process for returning people to activity.

  • Chronic Pain & Complex Conditions — Fibromyalgia, scoliosis, chronic pain syndromes. Mention your longer-term treatment planning.

Our Approach to Physiotherapy Treatment

Every patient at Coronation Physiotherapy receives individualized care. We don’t follow a one-size-fits-all protocol. Your treatment is shaped by what we find during your assessment, what your goals are, and how your body responds as we work together. Here’s what that process looks like:

Thorough Assessment First

Your first appointment begins with a detailed one-on-one assessment. We take the time to understand your full history — not just where the pain is, but when it started, what makes it worse, and how it’s affecting your work, sleep, or activity. From there, we conduct a physical examination to identify restrictions in your movement, strength, and joint function. This assessment is what allows us to build a treatment plan that actually targets the source of your problem, rather than chasing symptoms.

Manual Therapy

Hands-on treatment is at the core of what we do. Depending on your condition, this may include joint mobilization to restore range of motion, myofascial release to reduce tension in tight muscles and connective tissue, or muscle energy techniques to re-educate muscles that aren’t functioning properly. We use manual therapy because it allows us to feel how your body is moving, identify where it’s restricted, and make precise changes that you can often feel right away during the session.

Exercise Prescription

Manual therapy gets things moving; exercise keeps them moving. We prescribe specific exercises tailored to your condition and stage of recovery. These may target strength, mobility, balance, coordination, core stabilization, breathing, or endurance — depending on what your body needs. You’ll leave each appointment with a clear plan you can follow at home between sessions, so your progress doesn’t stop when you leave the clinic.

Supportive Therapies

When appropriate, we also use adjunct therapies to complement your manual treatment and exercise program. These include electrotherapy (muscle stimulation) for pain reduction and muscle re-activation, therapeutic ultrasound for tissue healing, acupuncture for pain management and muscle relaxation, and heat therapy for local symptom relief. These tools are especially useful in the early stages of rehabilitation when pain or inflammation may be limiting your ability to move and participate in active treatment.
